Moldavite - The Stone of Transformation

Moldavites were created by a violent asteroid impact in a burst of heat and kinetic energy about 15 million years ago in Germany. The crater ground area was vaporized by the high energy of the impact, then immediately condensed into a molten liquid as it was flung into space. It solidified into a transparent green tektite as it was falling back to earth, trapping the asteroid’s power inside a beautiful amorphous glass. The creation happened so quickly that dissolved gasses in the liquid glass formed extremely low pressure tiny bubbles, but got suspended before they could escape. These beautiful tektites were projected into space from the earth-shaking event and rained down on an area by the Moldau River in Bohemia.
